Hello, I am Sean Cannon, an intern with the Mancos Valley Center for Trauma and Attachment. I am actively a student at New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU). I have called Durango home for three years, and I originally grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have a big personality, and it shows through being an avid Philly sports fan, a gamer of all types, a pop culture fan, and a passionate Uncle. Being a big personality who has worked with all kinds of people has involved lots of learning to match others.
I love working with Adolescents (12+), transition-age adults (18-29), and those who care for them. We will work to find a fulfilling balance and ease the challenges that brought you to reading this. I love working with the nuances of our modern world. I work with much of what I know. While what helped me won’t be the same for you or your loved one, we can work together to find what will help.
Education and Experience
I have a BS in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management from Pennsylvania State University. Since Undergrad, I have worked in team building facilitation, environmental interpretation, outdoor education, and wilderness therapy. I will complete my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from NMHU around the end of Summer 2025.
